Greater Brownsville Launches New Mural Project at 923 E Washington St to Contribute to
Economic Development and Downtown Beautification
Greater Brownsville Incentives Corporation {Greater Brownsville) is proud to launch a new mural project aimed at contributing to the economic development and beautification of Downtown Brownsville.
The new mural, located at 923 E Washington St., is currently in progress and is expected to be finalized by the end of this month. The concept behind the mural is innovative, providing a vibrant canvas for our community and visitors alike to increase foot traffic in the area. This, in turn, will benefit the businesses in downtown and foster community support.
The talented artist behind this exciting project is Carlos Manuel Guerrero. With over ten years of experience and an expressionist art style, Carlos has left his mark on numerous murals across the Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, Houston, and our sister city of Matamoros.
Bret Gardella, Executive Director & CEO of Greater Brownsville, commented on the project: "Greater Brownsville empowers economic growth through innovation, and this new asset created for our city is no exception. We are implementing this community mural as an economic development tool."
Alexa J. Perez, Director of Marketing & Communications at Greater Brownsville, added, "Through our mural project, we are addressing both, our community and our businesses. The mural creates a connection with our community, increases appreciation for the arts and artists, attracts tourism, and contributes to downtown reinvestment."
The Greater Brownsville team expects this mural initiative to generate excitement among citizens and promote reinvestment in downtown. Stay tuned for more details on the unveiling, coming soon.
